Women Making A Difference

This booklet tells the story of a project: a collaboration between the British Council, Ethiopia; the Active Learning Centre, an NGO based in the UK and the women members of key political parties and NGOs in Ethiopia. From 2003 - 2005 the project worked to increase political understanding and participation among women in many different parts of Ethiopia, to promote women's membership and influence within political parties and to increase the numbers and success rate of female candidates standing at the 2005 elections. This booklet describes the model used by the project, assesses its impact and identifies lessons for the future.
